    ABILITY EXPLOSION Blast-Off Party  Miami Beach Botanical Gardens

    Please join us in kicking off the 2nd annual ABILITY EXPLOSION, a 5-day series of events helping to create awareness and improve the lives of people living with disabilities. The Ability Explosion Blast Off Party will be held in the Banyan Room at the beautiful Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. 

    Tuesday, October 19th
    Music Symposium  The Colony Theater, South Beach

    By showing how people coping with disabilities are able to play and enjoy music, the Music Symposium will help foster a greater understanding and appreciation of the talents this community has to offer. 

    Wednesday, october 20th
    "Lights Out Miami Beach"  A dining in the dark experience at some of the hottest restaurants in Miami Beach

    "Lights Out Miami Beach" is a unique simulation that teaches people what its like to experience the tastes, the sounds and the energy of a great restaurant without ever seeing it. Everyone from the guests to the wait staff will face their own challenges while discovering how they would all adapt to losing their sense of sight in a dynamic environment.

    Research & Technology Expo  The Miami Beach Convention Center

    Hundreds of exhibitors representing corporations and the public sector will converge on the Miami Beach Convention Center, showcasting the latest technologies and products designed to improve the lives of people living with disabilities.

    Comedy Festival  The Colony Theater, South Beach

    The Comedy Festival will feature hilarious stand-up acts performed by disabled comics from around the country. Come enjoy some of the amusing perspectives that people living with disabilities are able to share based on how they interpret the world around them. 

    Friday, October 22nd
    Biz-Ability Luncheon The Betsy Hotel, South Beach

    The Business Luncheon, hosted by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, is an opportunity for disabled business owners and investors to connect with the general Miami Beach business community. The Business Luncheon is a great opportunity to network and to discuss ways to better involve people living with disabilities in the dynamic Miami Beach business community.

    Friday, October 22nd
    Taping of "Cooking without Looking" At The Betsy Hotel

    "Cooking without Looking" is the first TV show ever produced especially for blind/visually impaired people. Guest "chefs" who are blind or visually challenged crate their culinary specialties, giving tips on how to cool/bake, stay safe and have fun in the kitchen with visual impairment.

    CRUNCH 5K RUN  Meets at the corner of 10th Street & Ocean Drive in beautiful South Beach

    Everyone is invited to compete in the Crunch 5k Run taking place in beautiful South Beach and managed by Split Second Timing.  Come enjoy the sun and the sites while helping people living with disabilities.

    Cocktail Party & Fashion Show  The Miami Beach Golf & Country Club, Miami Beach

    Come join us and celebrate the close of Ability Explosion at our gala cocktail reception and fashion show happening at the beautiful and centrally located Miami Beach Golf Club on the Alton Road. The Cocktail Party and Fashion Show is the climax of Ability Explosion week.
